So first off.. Monday! We played volleyball/chair soccer with some other missionaries. We then headed to Tallahassee for a 1/2 mission conference. We stayed with the FSU Campus Sisters. 

Tuesday we had an AMAZING meeting! Elder Stanfill and Elder Neilson from the Seventy came and spoke to us. That was really great! They talked about Unity and the Atonement. They talked a lot about commitment and so many other things! :) It was a very great meeting! After the meeting was over we headed home! We got home later Tuesday night.

Wed. we were suppose to do Family History with one of our Gators, but she canceled... We went to a pizza buffet with some awesome members! We then had another appointment fall through.. But we had a great lesson with Re....! :) I love her! :) Her daughter has moved now. She moved to VA. We will miss her. We had a nice Scripture study that night on prayer. :) 

Thursday! R......AND B.... ARE GETTING BAPTIZED!!!!!! We committed them to Baptism. They are getting baptized on Sept 26th. They are both so excited! We are super excited as well. (They are R.....'s kids) They are 10 and 9. They are so smart and so prepared! We then tried some LA's. and had dinner with our Bishop and his Family. I love that family!!!

Friday. New gator and he is a RAPPER! His name is Thomas. He is super awesome! He was a referral from the PCB Elders.. He is really wanting to know more. And yes he is a rapper. He showed us his recording studio. We had dinner with these members.. we tried to do some Faith Rockets.. with tea bags.. and they didn't work like they normally do...  about burnt that house down.....oops.

Saturday we had to take our car in.. nothing was wrong with it.. we saw some cool peeps. :) 

Sunday we had a potluck after church! and saw some more peeps.. we then had dinner with these new people in our ward, they are so awesome!! They were super funny! I already love them.. I'm so grateful to be serving here in a great part of the world! 

Some of you may have heard that there was a hurricane watch.. Well that has kind of faded. and we should be good.. I'll have to admit I was getting a bit excited... but it's probably better that it doesn't come. Well family I sure love y'all. Oh and transfer calls came yesterday, Sister Hawkins  and I are staying here in Panama City/Callaway! We are super excited!! Have a Supercalafragilisticexbaladotious week. (that maybe be spelled WAY wrong..)

Good day!

First off I would like to share part of a letter from my Mission President. 

"In 2009 a Disney movie "UP" was released. The film centers on Carl a 78 year old elderly widower. Carl who is attempting to escape from life when it becomes too difficult, ties thousands of balloons to his home and it begins to float away from the challenge of life. To me, a powerful lesson as it relates to mission life, was taught in the title of the movie, "UP!"

➡️ A mission that has passion and purpose is a mission where:
➡️ Discouraged missionaries cheer up!
➡️ Sour missionaries sweeten up!
➡️ Closed off missionaries, open up!
➡️ Conflicted missionaries make up!
➡️ Sleeping missionaries wake up!
➡️ Lukewarm missionaries, fire up!
➡️ Always remember to CHALLENGE THE CHANGE, DON'T CHANGE THE CHALLENGE!
May we "LOOK UP" as we strive to "Give' em Heaven!" 

 I really just enjoyed that! Hope y'all do as well. Y'all can apply it to maybe not "missionaries" but to whoever you are. 

So this week was really great! First off we started off with Monday.....we had a nice p-day! :) 

Tuesday we had a really great District meeting about managing stress. That was really great! :) We saw Ra____, and man her and her family are doing so amazing! They are so prepared and ready to accept the Gospel. She thanked us for helping her family and that always makes you feel good! 

Wednesday we got to see some less active members and they are doing alright. Just dealing with life struggles. We tried some potentials and some referrals. But no one was home... We had correlation with our new ward mission leader. He is super awesome! We had a good scripture study as well. We talked about Charity and how Christ showed the most amazing acts of Charity. 

Thursday we had to get on the bus early because we had an appt. over at the edge of our area at 10 and the bus takes a few hours to get out there.. lol. So we left our house at 8:15 and the bus comes between 8:20 and 8:25.. well annoying story short... we missed the bus and had to wait another hour for the bus to come.. but i guess it all worked out.. We met this guy on the bus.... and man was interesting. lol.. He just talked and talked and talked.... the whole bus ride, it was so funny. He was talking to Sister H. and I.. He asked us where we were from and I told him I was from "California" and he was like "Oh yeah, you look like it.. you look like you just walked off a set of 90210.." he then asked where Sister H. was from she was like "Utah" he then was like "Oh yeah, you got that Pentecostal look. You look like you just walked off a polygamy farm...". hahahaha we both just busted up laughing.. i wonder what he would have said if I told him that I actually grew up in Utah.... lol. He was being super funny.. He then just wanted to bash with us.. lol.. We just kept bearing testimony.. Oh those bus experiences. We then finally got to our appt and that was good, it was with a recent convert. 

Friday we did family history with a LA member :) Love Family History! Then we saw our Gator D____ we then saw Ra____ again:) It was so sweet her son R_____told his grandpa that he wants to go on a mission! These kids are so smart! 

Saturday we did some family history with one of our newer gators. We  had a great lesson with Re____ then we did some contacting.. the day was kind of a boozy of a day.. lol :/ 

Sunday  Re____came to church!!!! Yay!! That made us so happy! She is the sweetest lady and is so happy and loves us! We sure love her as well. :) Ra____and her family weren't able to come to church.. The kids got sick.. But we stopped by and brought them some stuff. Then we saw some members and some Less activeish... people! i sure love this area and just love being a missionary! 

Testimony.. I am so grateful for the Gospel I have in my life. For the joys and happiness it brings to me! I am so happy to be here serving a mission and to be inviting others to come unto Christ. It honestly is the BEST job anyone could every have... even though we don't get paid. The blessings are far more rewarding. I love y'all! Christ lives and God loves us! Keep smiling!

Three weeks worth of letters from June 15- July 08, 2015

Sorry for the last three weeks letters, my mom (me) who is keeping up my blog has not kept up with coping my letters so they will all be on one entry.

June 15, 2015

This area is great! I love it! and am super excited to be serving here! Our first day here we met the ward mission leader at Walmart. We were walking in and he was like "are you my new missionaries?" we were like yes.. he was like sweet. "I'm the ward mission leader.". it was pretty cool.. So Callaway is an interesting place, I love it! There is a paper mill and chemical plant here that smells bad, but it's all good. My new companion is pretty awesome! We both went to Bingham! Her name is Sister Hawkins. We hung out with some of the same people! :) Small world! The ward here is awesome! A lot of old people and lot's of families. Our area is huge! It covers almost all of Panama City :) and Callaway. We got to meet some of the recent converts. I love them already! This guy his name is A. He joined the Church in March. His wife has been a member her whole life. They are the cutest people! Haha I told him my bike tire was flat, he  really wanted to help me fill it up.. I didn't have it with me... but he called again today and was like did you get it fixed? I told him I needed to buy a new tube, he was like "well when you get it come over and I will put it on for you."  so many stories, but this area is great! We did white wash so it has been stressful but really great! I am learning a lot! We are in the same ward as the STLS. They are pretty cool. Oh, we are in a car share... it's pretty good. I am excited to walk and bike everywhere. :) We went walking the other day.. and we ran across a human head, haha...jk...it was a log that looked like a bloody human head to us..it was in a huge swamp.. we were looking for Gators.. and found a skull... that would have been a pretty strange story.. So this week I can't send pictures because I don't know how to on these computers... so next week you will get some! Hopefully..
anyway sorry this letter is all over the place.. haha but before I left Navarre we went and said goodbye to a few people.. haha one of our LA that we saw we went to say goodbye and she gave me a bag full of little gift things and her boyfriend wrapped up a beer in aluminum foil and put it in there... haha he told me I could open his gift there... haha it was really funny.. I kind of wanted to go put it in the fridge in our apt... I didn't.. I told him he could have it.... Haha
When we got here we settled in a little... on Thursday we went and met some people. We had a lesson on Saturday with an investigator. Her name is E. She is pretty cool. well.. I don't really know what else to say.. but this week was good and I love you all.. Again sorry about the pictures..

Hey everyone this week was pretty un-eventful so this letter will probably be super short.. not promises though..

So Monday we got to go to FHE that was fun. They just played games.. We got to know some of the YSA. There are few that are in- active but we will change that.. :) Tuesday we had district meeting. That was nice to get to meet our district leader and his companion. They are Spanish missionaries. They are pretty cool. We then had a "interview" with a non member student here at Gulf Coast State College. That was very interesting.. He was getting our religious beliefs on the Devil...He audio recorded it... so if y'all here my voice somewhere on the internet.... that's awkward.. But he was a interesting Son of God. We then did a lot of biking which was nice. I hadn't biked in so long it felt nice to bike. I think it was about 13-15 miles, it was nice. ;) We then went a walked to a members and met her. :) We call her Grandma N... well all the missionaries call her that.. :)

Wednesday we got to go to GIRLS CAMP! :) That was so fun! We got to teach on our purpose as missionaries and how to be a successful missionary, it was good :) The girls were really special, they were great! We got sent home with so much food! Haha hot dogs Galore.. and spaghetti.. and hamburgers... haha it was nice! ;) The ward here is great!

Thursday we had weekly planning. We had an appointment with one of our investigators. So a member drove us there and she wasn't home... the member had left so we went contacting. :)

Friday we had correlation and had a lesson with some recent converts. :) K. and A. Love those people. They are the most loving people and they are just so cute! :) We then did service at this house for these people that were moving. That was.....exciting.. We had dinner in Bayou George.... Haha just a small town in our area... we then tried visiting around there and no one was home..

Saturday we tried another investigator, but she was sick. We talked to her step dad He is from Ireland. He sounded so cool!  :) we then got to know some other members. We then went and met a less active. I  already love it here and the people. :)

Sunday was kind of long. We did the usual church and we saw some more members. We then went to this members house. While we were visiting we heard gun shots while we were inside.. well I didn't hear them Sister Hawkins did. She didn't tell me until we got in the car. So we were driving home and we look down the street and there was cops... Haha we didn't go down that street to get home.. It was a tidbit of a sketchy neighborhood.. not as bad as some of the others.. :)

Today we probably won't do much. We don't have the car.. so we will probably just p-day it up in our apt. Tonight we are have FHE :) Well,  I love y'all and hope you have a great week!

Hey everyone! This week was pretty great!

We found a new investigator! She was a referral from the Lynn Haven sisters. She is amazing! We are so excited to start working with her! She is 20 years old and has such a sweet spirit about her. Her living arrangements aren't the greatest, but we can tell she truly has a sweet spirit about her. We have already met with her twice this last week. So Monday we had FHE. No one came.. after we took down all the chairs and set up the volleyball net.. it's alright the girl who drove us took us to eat ice cream, so it all worked out. Tuesday we road the Trolley. The ward bought us trolley passes which have been a life saver. We got to know the area better and the bus stops which was really neat! We got to go and meet with our new gator which was pretty good. Then we may have gotten stranded at the mall.. haha We thought the last bus left the mall at 8 but the last one got to the mall at 8.. So we got to the mall and the driver told us that there was no more buses. So we tried like 10 people and no body answered, so we both felt like we should call this one lady who her husband isn't a member. She came right away with her non member husband. Which actually went really awesome! They took us out to ice cream... Haha Sister Hawkins and I both feel he will get baptized while at least one of us is here. 

Wednesday we did some biking around not to many people out, but we did get to know the area better. This area is pretty big. It covers all of Panama City and Callaway. There is about 7 little towns just in our area, Parker, Springfield, Callaway, St. Andrews, Bayou George, Fountain, Youngstown.. and I think some more.. it's great! Then we had Scripture study. We do that every Wednesday night. It is really great. The recent converts love coming we taught on Faith at this last one. It went really well. The Relief Society President then took us out to Subway after we tried to visit some people with her and no one was home. 

Thursday we biked to a less actives house. (She came to church on Sunday) we saw her.. she gave us some lemonade. We then did some weekly planning and went and tried to see an investigator. She bailed on us again. We did get to ride the bus and we talked to a few people. My companion pretty much got asked on a date.. and this guy next to me was asking questions..  it was actually pretty funny. I asked him if he was getting off at the next stop he was like "Yes Mam" He then was like "Hi, I'm D." I was like" Hey I'm Sister Seegrist. he was like "Do y'all do any single camps? haha I told him about YSA.Then gave him our number, so Sister Hawkins had given our number to the guy who asked if he could treat us to dinner. he then texted us about 30 minutes later. That was pretty funny. We told him to come to church, but he had to work.

Friday we did some planning and calling trying to set up appointments no one really answered. We had correlation and then met with the B. We then saw this LA. She is super great and sweet! We then met one of our investigators we hadn't met yet. We then headed to Volleyball. Just one recent convert came, but didn't play and the Sisters. Hopefully people will start to come! We did get super sick this day.

Saturday we saw a LA and one of our another gators. We then went to the Relief Society Luau.. that was fun! We tried a few people and again no one was home, so we went and OYM. 

Sunday we saw some member and LA's, it was pretty good! We enjoyed it. Good day, good week! Well, family I love you! The next time you hear from me I will be a whole 20!  Love you! Have a great week!

August 03, 2015 One Year Down and So Many Miracles!

Hey y'all,

This week was pretty good. Monday we did a coloring party for FHE. That was awesome! A bunch of young single adults in a fort eating fishy crackers, juice boxes, and fruit snacks, coloring,  it was really fun! Tuesday we had an amazing district meeting. I thought it was just really great!  We talked about the Atonement which is something that I  have been trying to study for a long time. The Spirit was very strong, I loved it! Then we went to see a kind of less active lady. She was sick so we weren't able to meet with her. But she was actually home and we are seeing her tomorrow. My companion was sick so it was kind of a slow day. We had dinner with a family of return missionaries. They are a great family. Wednesday we saw a less active who when we went to see her she told us to come back in about an hour because her soaps were coming on television.. lol.. So we went and biked and tried visiting a few others then went back to see her.  She is a funny lady.
Then we got rained out after lunch.. Florida is not the sunny state... it rains almost every day.. haha I love it!
We had scripture study and that was pretty good. We only had 2 people show up but we talked about Alma the Younger and Repentance. It was good. Then K.and A. took us out to ice cream..
Thursday we did weekly planning and had interviews with our Mission President. Those were really good. I just love my Mission Pres.
 We contacted a referral and finally were able to get in contact with G. again and set up another appointment with her. :) we went to see her and she was outside as her boyfriend was working on his car, so it actually worked out pretty great! We then did some stuff to help out the Relief Society.
Friday was a super long day.  We had to fixed Sister Hawkins bike and then we had to bike because we didn't have many miles left. We visited some people then we went to go to volleyball but no one came so we went contacting.
Saturday.. I got set apart as a Full Time Missionary a year ago today.  We had correlation meeting then we went and did some service and helped someone clean their house. They are moving. We then went to down town Panama City and tired to contact some people using the Plan of Salvation Pamphlets.. that didn't work out to well... lol, but it was good practice. We saw this massive dark cloud coming towards us and we were like "oh boy" so we went back to the car.. right when I shut the door it started POURING lol!!! It was pretty epic we then tried to see some more LA and we just got wet anyways running to their doors.. lol  :) We heart attacked the Relief Society President, she does so much and no one really does anything for her. :)
Sunday was amazing and the miracles flooded in..  #FASTINGWORKS!
So we had an amazing church services, then we got 2 new investigators. One was a referral from the Spanish Elders. The other one was a gators son. So cool story, we had an appointment with this guy named S. We went over there and his sister (who was a gator as well) was outside.. we hadn't seen her in a while and it's kind of hard to get in with her. We started talking to her and we were like "well we have an appointment with S. she took us over and S. didn't want to meet with us right then. So then she was like " Well, do you want to come over to my house and talk?" So we did and we taught So much! She just kept asking great questions. We ended up pretty much teaching her the whole Restoration, the whole Word of Wisdom, and some other stuff.. like how are bodies are temples. She wants to come to church! She and her family have been looking for a church. We are hopefully doing a church tour with her this week. It was great! Sorry my letters are so long. Then we had a great dinner with the bishop. lol.. their daughter ate my companions cake off her plate, while she was still eating it..  Haha....she also told us " You guys are monsters." She is only 6,  I just love their family. Well, that's all for this week. I love y'all and hope y'all keep being amazing!

July 27, 2015 Fish Fry and Fantastic Lessons

 

 

This week has been pretty good. Feels like it flew by, but like it was super long, lol. Crazy how that works.

Monday we went to Panama City Beach! We ate at "Panda" then we went to this place called the "Pepper Place." They sell a ton of hot sauce. The Elders asked us if we wanted to become a man? We were like...ahhh?... I don't know, haha.... but guess what? We totes became a "man".  They have this hot sauce that was apparently super hot, Haha..... the Elders were like "Oh, it will make your mouth burn, you wont be able to breath" we tried it.. not that hot, haha... It was hot but it wasn't as bad... it was pretty good actually. I think since I grew up kind of eating hot stuff it didn't burn as bad, lol.. Me and my companion were like "Really this isn't even that hot." lol... Granted, I didn't get very much... but my companion did and she said it wasn't that bad... It did make one of the Elders cry though lol.. We got a video of all of this. Wish I could send it, lol..

So, the beach was beautiful. I have been so lucky to have served by the water my whole mission. I love it so much!  I have been very blessed to serve with some amazing missionaries.

Tuesday we had a good district meeting. We kind of had a party after with Krey-Z Cones and whip cream...... lol.. We put the whip cream on our arms and hit it and tried to catch it in our mouths.. lol... funnier than it sounds haha... We then did some service with helping the Young Women's President set up for a YW thing. We had a great dinner with some returning members, who I love dearly. They are just a great family!They are working towards going to the temple as soon as they can.

Wednesday we tried to visit some people and saw some other people. We did a cool lesson at scripture study that night. We talked about the pioneers, it was pretty good. We had such good stuff to share.

Thursday we did weekly planning and tried some referrals. We had dinner with L's. They are just a wonderful family. Half of their family is in the ward. I have decided I will just have to marry into that family some day... lol ;)

Friday we contacted some referrals. We have been getting so many, which has been great! We had our ward Pioneer Day party, that was fun.. stick pull hurts.... lol. We did get a new sister,she is awesome her name is Sister Stevens. :)

Saturday, we helped clean the church, then we had a fantastic lesson with R. She just is doing so well. I am so proud of her and how much she has opened her heart. We read about Nephi and his brothers going to get the plates. That was really good. She even read the Book of Mormon by herself! She is doing so great! We feel that she is one of the reasons why we are here in this area. We tried some more referrals.. and then had our correlation meeting. Then we went to a fish fry wedding reception.  It was mostly a fish fry. That was so fun! This family is the same family I was talking about before.. the Laster's, Davis, Mack's, Gold's, they are all related. I sure love them!

Sunday we had some wonderful lessons at church. We had a great dinner with some awesome members and we saw one of our less actives/gators. It was pretty good!

July 20, 2015 Staying in Calloway!

So I am sticking around Callaway for another transfer. I am super stoked about that. Great area! So my email will be shorter this week.. We don't have much time.. We are going to the Beach.. yippy!

So on Monday we went to FHE. That was fun!

Tuesday we had a great District Meeting. We had a root beer party, because there was a baptism. We then went and tried some former investigators, but no one was home. We did get a new gator. Her name is C. She is 15 and comes from a part member family.

Wednesday we got checked out BIG TIME! lol. This guy riding the bus was not sly about it at all.. straight up watching us.. lol..The funniest part was the people behind us noticed as well. lol.. Then we had a great scripture study. Talked about how Nephi went back to get the plates. It was pretty great! We talked about the obedience they had.

Thursday we had weekly planning, saw some less actives then had a Relief Society activity, that was fun.

Friday we saw some recent converts and had a KILLER lesson with R. She is improving so much! it is an amazing miracle. I got called "Sister ADD.".. lol.

Saturday we had a really nice Baptism that we went to. We painted an older ladies fingernails. She is super nice. She made us eat a ton of ice cream.. #notcomplaining. We then had a awesome dinner with some great retuning members. I love this ward so much! We then saw another returning member.

Sunday we got to meet a recent move in member. She is awesome! Then we tried to see some others but  we didn't feel like we should. Then we kind of got lost in this really nice neighborhood.. That had houses that looked like they would be in horror film.. lol

July 13, 2015 Snakes, Snakes, Snakes-Black Racers

 

 

HOLY COW.! THIS TRANSFER HAS BEEN THE FASTEST THING OF MY LIFE! I KNOW IT'S BECAUSE WE ARE STAYING BUSY.

So this week was pretty nice.. it was hot! lol. We get the car on the weekends and the other sisters get the car on the weekdays.

So Monday we had dinner with some transplants ( that is what they call the ones that aren't really from the south.) They were awesome! This is just a wonderful ward. We then went walking and contacting. We found a few potentials. That was really awesome! On Tuesday we had Zone Training. That was fun, I learned a lot. We then went out to lunch with the zone afterwards. We went to this Mexican restaurant. It was good. The waiter took a selfie with us.. lol.. We then saw R. she is coming along. She has some health problems but she is coming along and understanding The Book of Mormon more.  Then we had to ride the Trolley home.. That is always fun. Some pretty interesting people ride the Trolley.. But, they are children of God too. So we were meeting a member at Firehouse Subs for dinner and we were walking there.. while we were walking I looked down and see a snake.. ( my companion HATES snakes.) I screamed like a 12 year old girl and she then sees the snake.. she jumps back yelling "OH MY GOSH, OH MY GOSH, OH MY GOSH" it was pretty scary.. so we started walking and we took about 2-3 steps and see ANOTHER snake... we then were very shaky as we walked on the grass.. haha the joys of the south. ;) Good thing the snakes were just Black Racers.. Still pretty creepy.. 

Wednesday we contacted some referrals.. tried some others... and guess what? Got caught in the rain... AGAIN! This time we were walking.. haha... It started pouring. it was pretty awesome... we hid under a building (the doors were locked.) We were really afraid of the rain.. and we were already dripping wet.. the thunder and lighting was super close.. so that is what was scary. We called a member to come and get us.. 

We then had scripture study. That was really cool. We had a non member and a less active come. They really enjoyed it and the spirit was super strong. We then talked to the Relief Society President about some people she wanted us to see..

Thursday we did weekly planning and saw G.and A. H. came with us. She is awesome! We taught the first half of the Plan of Salvation. It was pretty good. We then tried some others for about 2 hours... No one was home... or didn't live there anymore.. She then took us out to FROYO! It was pretty sweet! They had some pretty delish flavors.
Friday we saw one of our new Gators. We didn't get a chance to teach her much so we will try back in a few weeks.

We set up for volleyball.. and had correlation.. we then saw some recent converts and less actives. We went to volleyball and no one came.. So we helped out the sisters and made their baptism program for them. 

Saturday we tried visiting about 15 people in about 2 hours and not a single person was home... Just kidding one was... but she told us to never come back.. people are just not very nice sometimes.. Oh well it's their salvation... we tried.. lol... That's horrible of me.... ;) 

We did get to see a few people. That was nice.. 

Sunday we went to the sisters baptism. That was nice there were 3 boys that were getting baptized. They are super cute. We then tried to see 2 different investigators. One wasn't home and the other was busy. We had a nice dinner with this awesome family. They work at the jail and told us some pretty cool stuff. We saw some returning members. They are super awesome! He was baptized a little over a year ago. They are starting to come back to church! They have been the last 2 weeks.  I am so proud of them.

July 06, 2015 Biking Again in Down Pours, Alligator Park

 

Hey everyone! this week was pretty good. it consisted of my companion almost getting hit by a car. see an alligator, my 20th B-day, the fourth of July and exchanges. Monday we had a nice p-day. 

We had dinner with a super cute family. We taught the "Plan of Salvation" to them by drawing it with chalk on the side walk. It was good and they liked it. 

Tuesday I  taught in district meeting about referrals. That was pretty fun!  We have a good district. We then did some biking my companion and I were going to deliver a bible so we biked across town and the address was wrong. So we got the correct address and biked over there. It was in the next town over (it was still our area) so we had to bike by the paper mill and the Arizona Chemical...PEW... that smelled bad. We were biking on a pretty scary road actually and we get up by the fire station and this person slams on their brakes so the person behind them was also not paying attention so he slammed on his brakes and them swerved and nearly took out my companion. It honestly probably would have hit me as well. It was pretty scary. We are now going to try our best to avoid that road (we were in a bike lane to).

We then got caught in a massive crazy awesome storm! We came home soaked! 

We had dinner with some members he is moving to Utah for work.. 

Wed. we did more biking and saw some less active members. We had a great dinner with some awesome members. We had a really great lesson with them. They are super intelligent people who actually enjoy having a church related conversation with you. We then went to scripture study and no body came so we went to that same members house for ice cream.... ( we didn't have time before to eat it..) lol.

Thursday 19 died, we saw some less actives and some investigators. Then we did exchanges. Sister Nichols came to Callaway... lol she is serving in Callaway too.. these were the weirdest exchanges ever.. we planned and then went to bed. The next day we saw some more LA members and got a new investigator! She seems awesome. We then went out to St. Andrews State Park for correlation and lunch, it was cool. We saw a real live alligator. I will show y'all pictures! So the exchange was weird because we spend almost the whole exchange with the other sisters. Who happened to be our companions.. it was pretty funny though. then we had some dinner at the returning members home! They are so awesome! I love them already!

We then went to volleyball and no one came... (we were a little late) Oops.. but we went and saw another LA and they were super nice! It was pretty awesome! 

Saturday we had a few bb1s and went contacting and saw some awesome peeps. t'was good! 

Sunday we actually saw some pretty nice active members. We visited with the bishops family they are super awesome! We then had kind of a awesome miracle. So we were walking around our apt. complex trying to stay out until 9 because all our other appointment fell through. We need to talk to 2 more people just reach our goal for that day. So we prayed to Heavenly Father to place two people in our paths so we could talk with them. So we were walking and we see this guy run past us and jump into his car drives over and picks up his mom before we could talk to him they left.... we were like sorry we failed you Heavenly Father. Then we just kept walking.. we had the faith that we would be able to talk to someone.. So we then see this couple with this baby.. we were so happy so we talked to them. They were super friendly but we weren't able to set up an appointment,  but hopefully they will call us sometime. Haha... it was cool that even if they aren't ready for the Gospel now in their lives Heavenly Father still gave us the opportunity to talk to them and we were able to reach our goal. June 08, 2015 Transfering out of Navarre after 10 months.

Hey Everyone,

 This week has been pretty good. Monday was good. We were suppose to go to the zoo.. but it rained. #classic but it was pretty good. We had dinner with the Y's :)

Tuesday we had a nice district meeting. The Gulf Breeze Sisters taught about unity. It was really good! It was about just staying focused and remembering that we are all here for the same reason, To bring others to Christ. :) After district meeting we had a SICK Nerf War. Haha ...I love those!   ;)  A few non missionaries came. A. from Gulf Breeze and A. from our ward. They both are leaving for their missions soon. A. is leaving in about 15 days. But the Nerf War was pretty epic.. Elder P. and I were the last ones in and hunting for each other.... Haha... this went on for about 15 minutes of us just running around dodging each other. A. was hiding and we could not find him... after about 25 minutes of him hiding we finally found him... He was in the scout closet.. upstairs.. hiding behind flags..... Elder P. was so mad.. He thinks he would have won if A. was helping him out.. (they were trying to "kill me" before I shot them.. I won.... haha it was super fun! Highly recommended!!!Now back to missionary work.. Haha....

So then we went to see J. and a less active family. We had a really funny dinner with the R's.. I may or may not have lost it during the prayer for no reason.. and I was the one praying.  I could hardly say amen.... #longday? 

Wednesday we did our service at the thrift store then went to Pensacola for a Dr. Appt. Then came home and had dinner with a member and her in-active daughter. That was really nice.

Thursday we drove to Bristol for another appointment, road trip. That was super fun! I feel when I get home I am going to want to go on a lot more road trips, since I feel more comfortable driving short and long distances. When we got home from our 6 hour drive we went to see one of our investigators. She wasn't home. She forgot about our appt. Then  we had our correlation meeting.

Friday we did some planning and saw some members. Sister C. took us after dinner to get snow cones and walk the pier. That was fun, I took a lot of pictures. 

Saturday we did service and tried some less actives/ in-actives but  no one was home. Then  we finished our weekly planning. We had a nice dinner with the L's. Then played basketball. A few non- members came again. :) 

Sunday was pretty good. We  tried to visit some different less-actives and no one was home. After we went and had dinner at a members house. Then helped out Sister C. whose husband is coming home from his deployment today. We helped her decorate her house  and make cookies.  :) We then got "The Phone Call"...................When they said my name over the phone my heart dropped..  I knew it was coming but I was hoping I could lay low for another 6 weeks.... haha.  But I do know that this is what I need. I am needed somewhere else. I am super excited to gain new experiences and grow differently in another area. I have been very blessed to have served is this "Dream" area for almost 10 months. :) I am so grateful for the great ward and all the amazing people that I  have been able to meet." Maybe I will just get transferred to Gulf Breeze... since Sister S. is leaving too.. haha :) we will see and I will let you all know what happens :) I love you! Have a great week! :)

May 25, 2015 Memorial Day Celebrations!

 

 

Hey everyone!

 This week feels like it was super long but flew by! I hope you all are having a nice Memorial day! It is a big deal here because of the huge military influence. Its really cool! We had a wonderful week here in Navarre! So many great lessons. 

 Monday we got to visit with a member who came to a lesson with us. We went over our lesson plans. She taught seminary, she is pretty smart. She is just barely prego. Super cute! 

So on Tuesday we had a district meeting. The Zone Leaders came.. We just learned how to be better missionaries,  ya'll know the usual.. We got to have lunch with he Gulf Breeze sisters. I FREAKING LOVE THOSE SISTERS! We then got to see Jennifer. We shared some AWESOME Mormon messages with her. She started crying during one of the ones we watched with her. We defiantly could feel the spirit when we were there. It is crazy how in just a short lesson the spirit can still be there. We watched the Mormon message. " Ya never know" It is a really good one. Y'all should watch it. We got to see the R's as well. We read out of the Book Of Mormon with them. I love those guys! They make us laugh all the time. Seriously some of the funniest people I have ever met. Haha when y'all come back to visit Florida, I will let you meet them. I washed Sister Kirton's hair in the sink. Haha that was so funny! We have a good time together.. We also as we were laying down about to fall asleep decided to write missionary words to "Jar of Hearts" Haha... it was priceless! Haha..... 

Wed we did some service. We invited this kid that works at the thrift store with us to Basketball. He didn't come this week but it was graduation so hopefully he comes next week. He is about 18, we just felt that we really needed to talk to him. He said he really loves basketball so we are really hoping he comes! I think he would really have a great time. After service a member paid for us to go to " All American Heroes." Man that place is so good.  She allows us to go there once a month. They have some delish subs! We then had a great lesson with B.  He WANTS TO GET BAPTIZED!! So we talked about obedience and praying often. We told him to pray about baptism. He said he wants to do it. He just wants to wait for his wife to get home. She is deployed in Korea at the moment. She doesn't get home until January. She is taking lessons over there and wants to get baptized as well, but they want to do it together. We are going to mention the awesome opportunity he could have if he would get baptized first then, baptize her. We will see what happens. He is just so prepared and ready for Gospel. 

So this week we got to do a lot more service again. We went and helped L. with some house work, that was fun~ folding socks! haha :) We got to see F. and M. They really are the cutest girls!  We love them! Sadly, They have to start meeting with the Milton missionaries because their dad is moving there. We are going to miss meeting with them! Then we went and brought cupcakes to some members! :) 

Thursday we tried to see a less active, but she was sick.  We did some more service for a member who is moving. We had dinner with a member. They have some adorable kids!  The kids were like we have blackberry bushes. So they took us out to look at them.. They were in the woods.. so when we went outside it wasn't raining to bad. but then when we got into the woods it started POURING! Y'all know me.. I love the rain.. we may or may have not came back inside soaking wet.  It was so worth it though. The blackberries were delish. ;) We then showed up to Correlation meeting all wet. Oh well.. hahaha.. The weather ended up getting pretty bad. Our District Leader texted us and told us to go inside. There was some CRAZY LIGHTING AND THUNDER!  

Friday we got to see M. and D. Those were both good to see. We saw J. again and had dinner with some members. Then  we played some volleyball, no one really came... one dude.

Saturday we went and help some new members move into our ward. That was fun! I saw a turtle. We helped clean the church... and had dinner with some other members. Then to basketball. Pretty fun!

Sunday we had a great day at church! Three investigators came! :) B. D. and F. :) We had to finish some planning. Then we had dinner with some more members, the members here are so awesome! Great Ward here.. 

Well today we are heading to Pensacola.. :) Hope y'all have a HAPPY MONDAY! I Love y'all!!!

May 18, 2015 Humidity is Back!

Hey everyone,
How was this week? This week was good here in good Ol' Navarre.

The humidity has come to stay I believe and it's just beginning, ya gotta love it!!!

So this week we had a nice Zone Conference. It was very uplifting and great! We learned about some wonderful health stuff.. haha such as bugs, dehydration and safety. It was actually pretty good. We also talked about hurricanes. They are expecting one this year. They usually have them every 10 years or so... and guess what, it's been10 years. We will see if I am still in Navarre.. when it comes. That would be exciting! After talking about hurricanes we talked about some other mission related stuff, such as obedience, teaching with the spirit, having a desire and making people feel awkward haha... it's just so fun! We talked about unity and being diligent, it was all very motivating! It was also Sister Kirton's birthday on the same day. When we got home we went to a members house and they made burgers and fries for us. We also had some cake and ice cream.

We did service again on Wed at the thrift store.  Happy Birthday Alyse!!  We got to see E. and had a lesson with J. We had a nice dinner with a young family in the ward.  We got to visit with the S's. They are both doing well. We taught the Law of Chastity.  It was us, the girls and the dad. Good thing he took over that part of the lesson... explained all that stuff.

Weekly planning was the next day, which was good to get that done!

Friday, Happy Birthday Adalyn. We did some service today we helped some people move. That was fun! We loaded up boxed and unloaded them at a different place. We also moved other stuff out of the house. That was fun. After we did service we went and saw the R's. They are doing well. They  both came to church yesterday. We had dinner with the L's. They are a really cool couple. We then went to Volleyball. Oh,we got the sisters so good!!! hahaha #hidingintheirbathrooms.. haha #classic.

Saturday was service for a little bit. We finally got to see D. W. We haven't been able to see her in so long!! We just dropped by and saw her. We then talked to some members who live close by that were outside. They are moving to Italy. We then brought some cupcakes to some people who are going though a lot. Then we brought some to B. We went out for BBQ with a member, that was good.  Then we went and played some basketball.. I love that sport!!!

Sunday we had some great talks and lessons. We got to help out with some twins in the wards baptism. That was good. I got to give a last minute talk on the Holy Ghost. She asked me at church and the Baptism was after church. It was all good though even if it was only 30 seconds long. hahaha about that... it involved bubbles so it was good. Those twins are so funny.  One of them had to get dunked twice.  When he first walked in he was like " OH IT'S FREEZING!!" Then he started to scream!  So funny, then he wouldn't go back under.. haha so the dad said the prayer fast and kind of pushed him under.. haha not in a forceful way though, haha... it was great! Then we had dinner at a family in the wards home, they are so great!

May 11, 2015 Nine month mark!

 

 

Hey Y'all, it feels like I just talked to a lot of you!

This week has been pretty good! We went to Ft. Pickens which I wrote about...

Tuesday we had District Meeting. We went over our goals for this transfer.. Oh and it was Indian arrive day in Guyana. :) We saw R. his granddaughter was there. So we got to talk with her. She is like nine so it was fun talking to someone close to my maturity level. ;) We saw J. this week as well. She is doing well. We read in the Book of Mormon with her. We then went and did some service with our investigator L. That was fun! We didn't exactly know we were doing service so we wore skirts.. haha oh well, it was just house work. She had something done to her hand so she needed it done. We scared the Gulf Breeze sisters so bad! It was priceless hahaha... We have a key to there apt. so we went inside there place since they weren't home yet, we hid under their table. They came home and put there bikes away and were like oh we have to go to the sisters... So they were like I need to put some shorts on anyways long story short. Sister Stewart walked out of her bathroom and sees us and is like " Oh Good Golly, Gosh Jimminy Crickets! I hate you so much!" Haha we then told her to stay quite so she tried to cover herself up.  Sister Nielson walks out and is like okay ready! Then sister S. is like "yes.... I need my.....ball...." anyways Sister N. walks over and saw us and jumped! It was super funny!!!  That made the day so great!

Wed. I hit my 9 month mark!! So crazy I am half way done! We did the usual service. We had a  nice lesson with B. today! He is doing really well. We taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He took it all really well. His sister who now lives there has been joining us for lessons the last few times! So that is really great! She is super awesome! Then we did some service at the Y's house. Since they are moving in a few weeks. We help organize there kitchen shelves. We had a lesson with F. and M.  wants to get baptized this month!!!!! But sadly her dad won't let her... He said he wants to do it.. but he has been saying that for a year! She has been waiting for him for a while.. but let's hope he gets his act together so she can get it done! They are doing good though! We then went to correlation meeting. We mostly just talked about our ward mission leaders single life... it was pretty funny talking to him. I won't go into to much details.. it would bore y'all.... hahaha

Thursday we drove to Bristol for a appointment for my companion. That was fun! Three and a half hours each way! It was pretty fun! That pretty much took up the whole day!

Friday we got to see M. and Sister C. and the R's. They are all doing awesome! We had movie night. We watched  "Jonny Lingo" and "The phone call". Oh and Sister Whetten was at the church! She came back to visit with her parents. So weird seeing her in human clothes, haha.... We then went to this members home because he got his mission call. He is going to Salt Lake City!

Saturday we did service and saw some recent converts. We then did some service for some non members. The Gulf Breeze sisters contacted into them in our area. Their names are K. and J. She was so surprised that we just came and did service for her. I am pretty sure she was expecting us to ask something of her. She was just like I don't understand why y'all want to just help out some random people! It was really awesome though! We went as a district and mowed their lawn, picked up pine cones, raked, and so on.. It was pretty fun! Florida is sticky though! You got to love it! After service we had dinner with a new family who actually wasn't in our ward.  She went to the wrong ward and signed up to feed us. But that was still great! They are a pretty awesome family! Her husband is deployed. Afterwards we played some Volleyball. Not too many people came. I think because it was the youth temple trip and half the people that come are youth anyways, haha... it was super fun still. 

Sunday was of course was Mother's Day! It was so great getting to Skype and talk to some of you! I miss y'all so much! I love you! I am so grateful that I got to see some of you! Hope everyone had a enjoyable day!

Hey everyone!

 This week (in 2 days) will be my 9 month mark! Can you believe it? So crazy to me that I am half way done! I have hit the point where I don't like talking about the future. It gives me anxiety and makes me super nervous.. good thing I still have 9 months to go... :D So this week had it's ups and downs, mostly ups. I feel it was a pretty good week..

So Monday, I pretty much told you about last week. Hot food and dodge ball. We then went to dinner with the Y's. Then we saw N. We planned to show some videos, but they didn't work. Oh, well... 

Tuesday was super nice but also really sad. We said goodbye to Elder Burnett and Sister Whetten.. That was so sad... I have served with Elder Burnett my whole mission and served with Sister Whetten for more then half. They both are home now but, our new sister, Sister Nielson is super cute and think she will be a great missionary. She is from Orem. So that's what I was talking about things being up and down.

We had a nice district meeting. We had kind of a testimony meeting. We just took turns bearing our testimonies and talking about something's we learned this transfer. We then took some district pictures. I will send those later. :) We then went to a great lesson with B.! He is doing great! We finished teaching him the Plan of Salvation. Sister Y. came with us. We hadn't been able to meet with him for a while because he was out of town, but it was good. His sister even sat in our lesson. We then went to see J.. she is doing very well. :) We taught the 10 commandments. We were suppose to have a lesson with V. and A. But they dropped us... :( So sad. We are praying for them. They are just going through some stuff right now and are tying to work it out.. We texted her and let her know we love her and we always here for her. We reminded her of the happiness the gospel will bring to her life. 

Wed. was transfer day which meant nothing for me personally. I am so happy to be staying here in Navarre. Later we did some service for the other sisters. They didn't have time to clean there apt. before sister Whetten left. So we went over there and cleaned for them. We met Sister Stewarts trainee. She is a cutie! :) haha Small and very girly,  She comes from a family of 10! Awesome right!?. Then we went and did some service at the thrift store. That was fun!   We had a lesson with R. E. was already asleep when we went over there. We had dinner with the R's. Their son just got home from his mission 2 weeks ago. We had a awesome lesson with F and M, they are seriously doing so well.. it is so cray cray. They even invited us to their band concerts.! :) 

Thursday was Grahams Birthday! Happy birthday buddie.. oh and I realized I don't think I said happy birthday to Liam! Happy Birthday to everyone!  We saw R and E. She was actually awake this time. We taught about missionary work and service. The are so funny!  So after them we had lunch with The Gulf Breeze Sisters. We then did weekly planning. kinda..... We had dinner with a family in the ward. They made us baked potatoes. That was so yummy!  We then had correlation. :) 

Friday I cannot believe it is May! Today we did service for J. We cleaned out her garage. I hate spiders.. haha.. we then had lunch with M. Y. we hadn't seen her in a long time.. she made us some yummy Stromboli's.  We then saw S.. She is doing well. We then went to movie night.. The theme was Christlike Attributes. They were super great! 

Saturday we did service! We also had dinner with the L's. They are a super cool new couple in our ward. Then we went to play basketball..That was super fun! :) I love it! Then we talked to the sister's for awhile after. 

Sunday we went to church and had dinner with they Y's. We then went to this fireside about the Book of Mormon, that was interesting. 

Today we went to Fort Pickens. That was super fun! I love y'all! Have a great week! Happy Mother's day! :)

April 20, 2015 Rain, Rain and more Rain!

This week has been pretty wet! But I love storms, so I really didn't mind! Oh, I hope Samuel had a nice birthday! Love you buddy!

So at the beginning of the week, Monday and Tuesday we had the Gulf Breeze sisters staying in our apt. because they had to get a mold infested wall removed from their apt. Monday morning we all went to Sister L's and went on a walk, it was raining but it was still fun! Then we went back to her place and had smoothies and bagels. Those were super good! She makes the best smoothies! We then had the rest of our good P-day. Then we went and had a great and I mean GREAT lesson with V.  A. was there for dinner but then he had to leave.. but, his dad was there. He is a member and just happened to be in town this last week. So we taught her the Plan of Salvation! It was a wonderful lesson! The spirit was so strong. She told us she 100% believes the Plan of Salvation. When we told her about the Celestial Kingdom she started crying and expressed how she wants to live there with her family forever! She also loved learning about the Spirit World. She then was like I really, really want to marry and get sealed to A. She started crying about that as well. She asked us if she can't get sealed without knowing the Book Of Mormon is true? We told her no.. she was like, I just feel like I won't ever know if it is.. We testified to her that we know if she prays and asks God with that sincere heart.. She will know! She really is doing so well. We love her so much!!!

On Tuesday we had a nice district activity. We learned about teaching people not lessons and how to begin teaching. We did this thing, it wasn't a role play, but we each had to write a question on the board and we then got assigned a question and had to answer it.  I got the hardest question... I was sad I couldn't answer it for Elder Fortin, but I did do some extra studies on it and kind of found a answer.. after I asked President Smith in our interview after district meeting. We did a very short district activity we had another Nerf War for about 45 minutes. We were going to go to the Naval Air Museum but we didn't have time, it would have taken too much time out of our proselyting day but after the Nerf War  we headed to Pensacola. We had interviews with President Smith. Those went good,  I just love my Mission President and his wife! They are such great leaders!!! While we were waiting some of the other sisters and I drew some pictures on the board... They are on the Blog.. When we were driving home... we got NAILED with rain, it was crazy!! There was thunder and lighting everywhere... I loved it,  then we had to pull over because it was raining so bad. We couldn't see 15 feet in front of us.  When we stopped I took of my shoes and got out.. the water almost covered my feet. it was really deep in the parking lot.. haha it was flooded kind of bad in some areas we passed.. When we got home it was still raining, but not as bad. We went and saw a member in our apt. complex. The sisters spent the night again!

Wednesday we did some service at the thrift store and had a small lunch! Then we went to Predio for a baptism.  It was one of Sister Kirtons old investigators. She spoke for it the Y's drove us there. We had a good time with them! We saw M. S. for our first new member lessons. She is a completely different person! It was crazy! She talked, she even went to Mormon Prom and danced! She was so shy before her baptism and now she is just so different, it is amazing! We taught her about obedience. We then talked to her grandma forever after her lesson.. She is a really great women!

Thursday was weekly planning. We saw the R.  we taught about Family History and Temples and Eternal marriage. That was sweet!

We had dinner with the W's. They are moving to Turkey! How cool is that? So sweet!  It would be kind of scary to move you whole family over there right now but still it's pretty cool. They have lived some pretty awesome areas. Then we went to our Correlation meeting.

Friday we went and saw sister W's and sister A.! We then had a lesson with J, we taught her about Following the Prophet. She is doing really good. Continuing to pray and read.  We read from 1 Nephi with her. We had dinner with the C. family. I love that family! They are so cute! Their little boys are adorable! I think I got pictures to send. We played Pictionary with them haha... We then went to movie night! We watched some really good movies about enduring to the end. The Elders did a great job at picking some real tear jerkers.. Oh, when we got to movie night the Gulf Breeze Sisters and the Eders recent convert attacked us with Nerf bullets. When the Elders got there we did the same thing... I may or may have not been playing around after and shot someone in the back of the neck.... Oops! it also may or may have not left a nice welt..... :/ Word of advice.. PBC pipes work great for Nerf guns....  

Saturday we did service at the thrift store. Then we tried to see the R's.. No one was home so we got to go and meet with this less active that we haven't met before. The Elders use to work with him, he was super cool and super friendly. He said we could come see him and his family again. We then had a really good dinner with the G. family and The L's. who are new in the ward. That was really cool. I found out they know Sister Strickland, small world. We then went to play basketball. There were so many people there. We ended up playing Hunger Games Dodge Ball.. That was super fun! I don't mean to brag or anything but I won! :D haha... Elder Payne won the first one, then it was me..haha it is a super fun game though..

Sunday we had a nice time at church! We had some CRAZY storms again.. along with this whole wet week.. but yesterday was awesome! Poring rain.. thunder every where.. I don't think people know what rolling thunder is until you experience a thunderstorm in Florida. I love them! We made this game... for keeping the commandments. We played it with the S. family after dinner. Then we saw C. She is such a busy women, it's crazy!! Then we saw the H's. Another really cute family.

HEY EVERYBODY!

How has everyone's week been? This week has kind of been a weird Blur..... but it has been a nice one! :)

Monday we spent most of the p-day with the Y's which was fun! They took us to Walmart and they did Sister Kirtons Makeup! :) That was fun!

Tuesday was so great!! We had a wonderful Zone Training. We learned from our Zone Leaders and our Sister Trainer Leaders some wonderful things. They taught about Effective OYM'S (TALKING TO EVERYONE, open your mouth)  We also talked on referrals and on finding families! It is becoming more and more of a push in finding families. Which is fine by me! :) Families are so amazing to teach! To be able to bring them together and help them reach the goal of an Eternal Family! After zone training we played kickball. That was pretty fun! I did get a little sunburned, which is weird because I don't normally get burned, but it was fun! I really love our zone! It is so amazing to me how many friendships you really can develop in the mission! The Mission really is the BEST choice ever! Anyone thinking about serving a mission... DO IT! You will NEVER regret it! If you don't know if you should serve, I would encourage you all to PRAY about it! It truly will bless your life and the lives of so many others!

So when we got home we did some contacting and then went and saw the C's. They really are a awesome couple! They are so nice and welcoming to missionaries. Even thought they aren't active in the church they will do whatever they can to help us out! :)

Wednesday we got to do our service at the thrift store. Then we saw our investigator J. We taught her how the Book of Mormon and Bible go hand in hand with each other, how they support each other. We also talked to her about her prayers.  :) We then went to Navarre Park and did some contacting. Then we had a nice lesson with A. she also made us dinner! :) Then we shared some scriptures with her and her non member husband. We were able to leave them with some readings. He was asking us some great questions! :) We are super excited to continue seeing them. They are such a cute couple! We talked to him about the Book of Mormon and the Bible as well. :) It was nice! :)

Thursday we planned for our week and had a lesson with the R. Then we had dinner with the R's. Their son is coming home from his mission in Brazil this Wed.  So the dad made some Cajun dish  that was pretty good. It was something that he learned to make in Louisiana. It was kind of spicy, but really good. We then had our correlation meeting. :)

Friday we had to spend a lot of time updating our area book because it was really bad and really missing a lot of papers that we didn't even know needed to be in there. Then we saw a less active member that we have been trying to see since Christmas. She hasn't been home or has been sleeping.  It was cool to see her. She is just having a lot of family stuff going on. Then we went and had a visit/lesson with V. and A. We read with them 3 Nephi 11. about when Christ came to the Americas. I think they enjoyed it. We then went to our movie night. Only 2 people came, but it was fun still. We watched some good movies on the Holy Ghost. Sister S. bore her Testimony in sign language, which was really neat because it brought the spirit so fast.. it was really neat!  :)

Saturday we did some contacting, not really too much.... We worked at the thrift store and had a nice dinner and lesson with Sister C. and her daughter N. as well. They cooked us a nice southern meal of fried chicken, creamed corn. biscuits, homemade mashed taters and mac and cheese, it was really yummy!  We then went to volleyball, but no one came because it was Mormon Prom.

Sunday! V. and A. came to church! It was so neat! V. was crying the whole time during fast and testimony meeting. She leaned over to us and said " I don't know why every time I come here I have to cry". We were able to tell her why and let her know it was the spirit. She really enjoyed church again. A's dad is in town. ( he is a fully active member from Utah.) He kind of acted like we hadn't met his son and V. before. It was kind of funny actually, but we set up a dinner with them for tonight. We are teaching the Plan of Salvation. I am super excited about it. :) So after church we went to the island and tried to see some less actives out there and to talk to some people... No one was out because it has been really wet these last few days.. Then we went to see another less active family but they were sick... :( Then we had a really fun dinner with our Relief Society President. That was really fun! She cooked us a ton of German food, which was awesome! :) We had a really great time with her :)

Today has been super rainy, but we have been hanging our with the Gulf Breeze Sisters a lot. We went and exercised with Sister L. then she made us really good smoothies. The sisters have been at our apt. all day because they are getting a wall fixed in theirs, it had mold on it and creepy bugs in the windows, but we love having them over.  I am sorry this letter isn't too exciting. I love y'all!!

April 6, 2015 Baptism

 

 

Hey Everybunny! How was y'alls Easter? Mine was eggciting and eggcelent.

So this week feels like it has been pretty busy! Even though our numbers didn't really show it that much, but we had a great week anyway! :D Monday we played Hunger Games Dodge Ball.. That was so much fun! Who would have thought that dodge ball would make you so sore!! It was really fun though! We had a wonderful Family Home Evening with The C. Family! We went down to Navarre Beach with them. They fed us dinner and we took some fun pictures! They are a great family! They kind of remind me of our family! :) I love the amazing beaches here. Even though I do miss the California beaches. There is just something special about them..

So on Tuesday it was pretty busy! We had a great district meeting! We learned about revelation through prayer! How prayer is KEY in conversion. Our investigators need to pray in order to be converted. In order to receive that knowledge that the church is true! We did some role plays about teaching our "Investigators" how to pray. Those were umm fun! It's so awkward role playing.  Especially with Elders..... I don't know why... after that we had lunch.... :)

We then headed back to the church to start filling the font.... Oh boy was that something special.. hahaha.... When we got there we realized that the font didn't get drained all the way from the baptism on Saturday the plug was pulled but it got clogged when there was only about 6 inches of water left to drain.. So we were a little worried... We had gone early to clean the font, it is a good thing we did.. We tried to plunge it, that didn't work. We then called some members. One member came with a Shop Vac and the Elders showed up with draino.... hahaha while we were waiting for the member to come with the Shop Vac we just took buckets and bailed out about 5 out of the 6 inches of water.. My poor companion.. Her back was hurting really bad.. I tried to get her to sit down but she is a stubborn one.. love her... haha  When the member came he was using the vacuum to try and unclog it but it wasn't working.. He then just vacuumed up the water and we started filling.... (people came and fixed it after the baptism) but we did get some epic pictures..

So after we filled the font the baptism didn't start until later.. because she was scared to come out of the bathroom.. she is VERY Shy and wasn't expecting that many people to show up.. So that made the service start about 30 minutes late, but it was all good. Right when it ended we headed to our dinner. Then we realized the guy who baptized her has to sign the baptism record..so we drove over there and realized that he actually didn't have to sign... haha anyway we ended up getting home at about 9:30, but it was all good and let's hope that she had a nice experience.

Wednesday was one of my favorite holidays.  Sadly I didn't get to pull any pranks. We did get to do some service.. That is always fun! We then got some movies together for our appointment later that night.. Then we went to see a lady who is about 29 who had open heart surgery about a month and a half ago. She set up a return appointment with us to eat dinner with her and her husband who isn't a member on Wed. We are very excited for that!They are the sweetest couple. Then we had dinner with another less active member. We were going to watch the videos that we got ready but they didn't work sadly, so we ended up watching the " Reflections of Christ." Which was still good, she gave us cute little Easter Baskets. :) We love her! :)

Thursday we did some service for Sister P. She is a member in our ward. We Raked her front yard, which was huge.. But it was a lot of fun! We also got to teach E. J. while working as well. She was asking questions about the Word of Wisdom, that was really nice! There were so many leaves at her house. We filled 11 HUGE garbage bags full of leaves.. That was just the front yard.. :) Then we were suppose to do some service for C. but she cancelled.. oh well.... we then got ready for exchanges! I got to go to Milton! Finally left Navarre for more than a few hours.. hahaha Milton was fun! It was nice to be able to bike some more... even though I realized how out of shape I am... I haven't biked in so long, that it hurt to bike. It didn't help the fact that it was so hot! It was super fun though. I got to meet some really neat people in Milton.

Friday I spent the whole day in Milton as well. It was a lot of fun! The members and their investigators seem super cool! One of their investigators little boy is about a year and a half old. While I was praying, I felt these little fingers in my mouth... hahaha. I pulled them away and right back they went. I started laughing in the prayer, I then pulled them away again and right back they went. His mom looked at me during the prayer and started laughing. It was pretty funny. The other son was like "Isn't a bird Gods Angel ?" It was really funny! He was super cute too. I love kids!! :D  I heard about your prank Charity, that was a good one.. Even though I think I know you to well... haha When we got back from exchanges we showed up at movie night and this less active that Sister K. had visited with came up to me and was like " Girl! I missed you! Don't ever leave like that again, and if you have to at least tell me first." It was pretty funny! :) The members here are so awesome!

Saturday, Conference WAS SO GOOD!  I hope everyone had the chance to watch it! It really was amazing! I loved the first talk from President Eyring. That was very great! I also loved Elder Bednar's talk. "We can be blessed to hush our fears" Remember to;

1. Look to Christ

2.Build a foundation of Christ

3. Press forward with faith in Christ.

I really loved his talk!  I also really enjoyed Dale Renlund's talk. I liked how he said "God Cares a lot more about who we are and what we are becoming than what we were. "  also how he also said "We know perfectly well that we are NOT perfect."

Conference was really just so great! I think that the older I get I just get so much more out of conference. I learn a lot more.. So I had some questions when I started watching conference... I felt they were answered by Elder Packer, Elder L Tom Perry and Elder D Todd Christofferson.  If you didn't notice all of those talks were on MARRIAGE........ and I am kidding about getting those questions answered.  I feel that was funnier to me than it will be to y'all... any whom,

Sunday was a nice Easter. Again Conference was great!  That would be about what we did.. Oh and we did some contacting, it was a nice Easter! :) I hope y'alls Easter was Great! Thank y'all for everything you do! I love you and pray for y'all everyday! Keep keeping on! Love you!
