So this week was good and kind of eventful. We did have a lot of people cancel appointments though, which I don't like. I guess I will start from Monday!
So Monday we had an epic and I mean EPIC Nerf war with our district. Which was so much fun! Two of the Elders got transferred this week also. :(
Tuesday was so much fun. We had our District activity which was beach volleyball. First we all went out to lunch at Surf Burger which our awesome district leader paid for all 8 of us missionaries in our district. We went to Pensacola Beach and played volleyball, which was a lot of fun. We also had District Meeting and said goodbyes to the two zone leaders/Elders in Navarre. Poor Navarre Ward getting white washed two transfers in a row. Anyway, we then had dinner at the Y's house. They are really nice. Then we had a lesson with A.S. it went great!
Wednesday we worked at the thrift store, then we went to "All American Hero's" for lunch again. Then we went to a lesson with C. Afterwards we then went to R.'s and then OYM (open your mouth or in other words talk to people) and had dinner. Then we went and visited less actives because out appointments fell through.
Thursday we had a lot of appointments cancel, so that was lame but we tried some potentials. Then we went to see J who has agreed for us to come back and teach her. She is a wonderful lady. She adopted her grandson when he was 2, he is now 5 and she is like 50 something, anyways she is really nice and likes us. Then we went and saw Sister Y who is a member. Her husband joined the church almost a year ago. They are moving to Las Vegas while he is deployed in Korea for a year. They have 2 adorable boys, one reminds me so much of Harvey. lol. . Later we went and saw C again and had dinner at the W's. They're really nice. We had really good Chinese food. Then we went to Correlation Meeting we met the new Zone leaders/Elders. Their names are Elder Egbert and Elder Fortin. (Fourteen) is how it is pronounced. Anyway, they both are great missionaries. Then we went to the K's home and met with them.
Friday we went to M.Y. house for dinner we had extra time before our next appointment so we had a very exciting time... let me begin the story..
We had an exciting thing happen this week. We went to this guys house that the last sisters had taught 2 lessons to. We tried him when we first got to Navarre but he wasn't home, we called him and texted him multiple times but he never got back with us. So we just kind of dropped him. But on Friday we were in the area and were like, hey maybe R's home so we went to his house and there was this big neon sign on the door that said that a lab of illegal drugs was seized from this location on 10-3-2014 which as Friday. So we knocked anyways ha ha (don't panic mom) so no one answered and the door was opened, so we knocked again then we just took a picture of the sign. As we where leaving the neighbor yelled to us "can I help you?" We went back to him and said we where looking for R. We said, but the sign on the door makes us think something happened. The neighbor then said "Yeah something big happened and they took a lot of people away." He said "The house was being watched" He also said that they where asked to call the cops if anyone went to the house. So the neighbors said that they called the cops and they probably would come. We asked them if we should wait and they said "no your probably fine" so we were like "ok." so we were biking away and this cop pulls into the neighborhood, we hopped of our bikes and he just drives passed us to the house, so we were like "ok" we will just wait that way the cop doesn't pull us over on the main road. Then a few seconds later another cop pulls in the neighborhood and he pulls up behind us then the other cop comes and pulls up kind of blocking us in. The cop asked which way we came from and we told him "we already know what's going on". They then asked how we found the house and how we knew him. They wrote down everything we said. They then took our ID's and we were stopped for like 30 mins. All the people in the neighborhood were watching and being all nosey. lol. Low and behold who is across the street, our investigator D. Same place I crashed my bike last week. The cops then told us that we need to be safe and don't think because we are Jesus people we will be protected all the time. The cops where wearing their bullet proof vests. haha anyways, a great name for our image. Lol... but it was all good. We placed a Book of Mormon to the cop. You never know!!! Anyways, that was a great time. Then we went to see Sister A. and taught her about tithing and the plan of salvation. Then we went over the roster with the Elders and then went to a great lesson/dinner with Sister C. and R. and his wife and two of their grandkids. That went good, we taught the Restoration and R's wife E made delish fried Chicken. She said she wants to get baptized and read the Book of Mormon. So after that great lesson we went to another great lesson with A and He is getting baptized on November 1st. We taught him about tithing and fasting. He is great! We then went to Sister R's house and picked up a form for a Family History Booth we are doing this Saturday.
Saturday, we went and met with Miss K she has had a really hard life and she has a great testimony. She has also agreed for us to come back. We then watched Conference. That was great! I loved it so much!we need to really be nice to everyone and listen to our Prophets. Times are about to get even crazier, and we need to make sure that our testimonies and our faith in our Prophets is strong and immoveable. After conference we went to C and D's and taught about Temples. The K's came with us. Then we came home and got the mail and planned.
Sunday we taught N about the Book of Mormon. Then we watched conference at sister B's house (Saturday we watched it at the Y's). That was really good. I just love conference! I have such a strong testimony of Prophets and I KNOW that they are called of God. We need to remember that we must have faith in them and they really do lead and guide us. So after conference we went to the L's for dinner, which was great. Then we went and had another lesson with A. He is doing just so wonderfully! He is so ready to be baptized. After his lesson we came home and planned and went sleepy sleep. And today we are just emailing, we went to Wal-Mart.. lol. Well, I love Y'all so much and hope y'all have a wonderful week! Oh and I got a picture in front of the cop car. He told us we cant post it on facebook, but I will send it probably next week. I don't have a cord to send pictures off this computer. Oh and today is my 2 month mark! Time flies. I can't believe I only have 16 months left. lol
Love, Sister Hannah Seegrist
